About Me

Hi! I’m Ashley Gingeleski from Syracuse, New York. My background is in environmental science and I’ve worked a few field technician gigs since I graduated in 2016. These jobs landed me in northern New York, southern California, and Boise, Idaho. I tried my best to find some balance between my love for working outside and my interest in biological surveys. Seasonal work is a major treat, but I found myself wanting more than a seasonal position.

Big data seemed like the answer. I’m amazed by the way data science influences research and wanted to learn more about how I could use programming to make positive impacts in my field. I decided to take some time off and learn data analysis with R and Python. This space is for me to track my journey delving into the world of data science. I’m learning more each day and hope to share my progress and my passion for the environment with you.
